About the Artist
Erin Karsten is a mixed media artist and photographer from Green Bay, WI. Karsten graduated summa cum laude from American University with a degree in International Relations and went on to receive a Certificate Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Harvard University. A lifelong learner, she is currently in pursuit of a Bachelors in Studio Arts at UW-Green Bay and is the recipient of the Hagemeister Family Merit Scholarship for Art. Karsten is drawn to subject matters that capture the realities and strangeness of living life as an artist. She derives inspiration from everyday objects and finds beauty in the mundane, dirty, and strange. She most commonly works with gouache, acrylic, and ink as media for her paintings. In her free time, she can be found working on her French fluency, enjoying the outdoors, or playing with her cat, Terrance. You can find her artwork available for viewing and purchase at www.erinkarstenart.com or @erinkarstenart on Instagram.
